Take up and discuss homework from pages 591-596.  Watch video about animals.  Work on test review for Ch. 20.  The test on Ch. 20 will be Thursday, 2/3.
HW: Print this sheet and get it signed by a parent.  Record assignments in planner.  
***Research: Use www.opendoorsusa.org to find the top five countries that oppress or persecute Christians.  List the countries on a sheet of paper, and bring the list to class Wednesday, 2/2.  Complete test review.  Is your notebook updated and in order?

Go over all Ch. 20 notes.  Do Ch. 20 puzzles.
HW: Study for Ch. 20 test.  Be sure to have your research list tomorrow.

Celebrate 100 days of school!  Read Junior Scholastic magazines.
HW: Be sure to have your research on Amin and Fossey in class with you tomorrow.  Review 20-3.

Wednesday, 1/26
Go over 20-3 notes.  Take 20-3 reading check.  Discuss Amin and Fossey.  Read about apes and monkeys. 
HW: On a sheet of paper, write the definition of the word propaganda.  Have this definition in class tomorrow.  On another sheet of paper, write two paragraphs--one about Amin and one about Fossey.  These are due Friday, 1/28.  You will turn in your research with your paragraphs.
       
Thursday, 1/27  Chapel Schedule
Read 20-4.  Read about the crisis in Darfur.  Get sheet of questions that is due  
Monday, 1/31.  
HW: Review 20-4.  Complete paragraphs.  Read pages 591-596.  Answer questions on the sheet I gave you.  The questions are due Monday, 1/31.

Label Ch. 20 map.  Read 20-1.  Write definitions for Ch. 20 vocabulary words.  
HW: Be sure Ch. 20 vocabulary is completed by Thursday, 1/20.  Review 20-1.
***Research: Use the internet to research Idi Amin and Dian Fossey.  Print at least one page of information about each person.  Your research should include Amin’s nickname and the name of Fossey’s famous book.  Highlight those two specific pieces of information.  Bring your research to class on Wednesday, 1/26. 

Wednesday, 1/19
Complete 20-1 notes.  Begin reading 20-2.
HW: Review 20-1.  Be sure your vocabulary is complete.  Use the internet to find the official motto of Kenya.  Write your answer on a sheet of paper, and bring it to class tomorrow.  Work on research.

Take 20-1 reading check.  Finish reading 20-2.  Complete 20-2 notes.  Do map sheet.
